[2] „Ein Seitensprung kann zur Nagelprobe einer Beziehung werden.“[5] «Seitensprung»: Wenn Gefühle ins Wanken kommen. In: Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen. 25. Juni 2015 (URL, abgerufen am 21. März 2020).

[2] “An affair can be the acid test of a relationship.” [ 5 ]

----------- This reminds me of a book I read in the 1980's.
The author (a Communist) studied in Germany in the 1930's or maybe
    a bit later.

At the time, among German youths, a big issue was the question of Sex
    before Marriage.

According to the book, there was a common slogan (or
Motto), but I can't remember the exact wording. Does anyone remember
    it?

    It was something like:

"Keine Prüfungen, was für eine Liebe?" (This is what I remember)

--- (Without (Tests, Trials) experimentation, what good is
    Love ?)

    "Keine Proben, was für Lieben?"

"Keine Prüfungen, was ist das für eine Liebe?"

in Sci.Lang, I used to be gratefully aware of
Helmut Richter (who often gave me excellent responses) --- has he disappeared?

Maybe I'll describe a few of the most interesting or informative responses that he gave me.

PTD once gave me a great response ------- which was........
about this joke in German which goes.............
( a few of you remember it?)

    ________________________

Bojewski (was that his real name?) probably spoke German, but
    he rarely answered my questions.

He had a talent for responding to me
    in a certain way.

by 1. bragging he knows many languages
-- (providing some hints or details to back that up)

    2. without giving me any details that I'd want or asked about
