• The House Built of Sticks

    Use nine sticks of the same length (toothpicks, matchsticks, craft) to construct a house shape as follows:

    Make two squares with a shared side using seven of the sticks and use
    the two remaining sticks to create a triangular "roof" on top of the two squares.

    Something like this (best viewed with a fixed-width font):

    (In this diagram two characters are used for each "stick")

    The puzzle is to rebuild the house so that it forms three squares and
    two triangles. Each side must be the length of a stick.
