I need software for generating cryptics (British-style crosswords) on
Linux platforms. My goal is to generate and print the puzzles on
standard sheets of paper.
Anything related to this would possibly be useful to me even if it
doesn't do the whole job. Even tools that do bits and pieces may help.

1a) Worst crispy cod heartless customer ordered for challenge (7,9)
6d) See 6d) (4,11)
SELF REFERENTIAL? Doubt it, though.
9d) Oil-bearing ordered to DIY (2,8)
The Internet Anagram Server did not get this one. Surprising, as
it is straightforward.
11d) Chews puce to make better puzzles (6,3)
Beats me! Any hints?

Verb noun.
ESCHEW CUP?
I tried hard to find three letter words and it seems
to be the best fit. But, what do you mean by that?
