temperature, nausea, and was weakened to the point of not being able

The flu going around this year seems to be particularly bad, so

So now, with rain predicted for today and tomorrow, my total ride data
for 2024 will close out at only 43 rides and 2103 miles.

I skipped a couple of days for icy roads in a lingering
sleet but had a reasonably nice ride this morning. Would
have been better without the damp wind.

I know it would be better for me physically to go more often on
shorter rides, but that wouldn't satisfy my emotional requirements. I
dislike riding in my suburban neighborhood with short spans between
stop signs. I want long uninterrupted stretches with as few stops and
as few distractions as possible, so for me it's a five mile trip in
the truck to the bike trail, and nowdays, a minimum of three days to
    recover.

I'll also happily ride on a rainy day when the temperature is in the
80s or 90s, but not in the 60s or 70s.

I can see that someone might find that annoying, MTB for me is that in that
it needs a car/train to get it somewhere.

Though I find most of the rail trails fairly busy places with runners/dog walkers and so on plus bikes, even in areas such as wales which are fairly unpopulated areas.

So I’m more likely to ride other areas if I want to just ride and don’t want to people!

In further harrumph found a sidewall slash and slight bulge on the commute
tire so that’s a gona! Which I discovered after a puncture yesterday on way to work, and I’d put the tire on reverse which on those makes no difference but annoyed me so I changed it around today but discovered the slash,
almost certainly due to a nail probably not the same as one that punctured.

But somewhat annoying as the tire only had a 2k or so on it, they should do normally last 8k ish.

There's a fair anount of use on the 6 mile trail that leds out to the
Suncoast Trail, but sometimes I'll only encounter a dozen or so other
riders on the the Suncoast. It's very busy on the weekends and
holidays, so I seldom ride then

I have had a running nose and a bit of upper respiratory thing going on
for now almost 4 weeks. No temperature and not really feeling bad at
all but stuff all above throat. No chest congestion or sore throat so I
    don't know.

However the past week except for some rainy days been ok. I rode today
41 miler temp at 38 but no wind at all. I managed on Saturday to churn
out a 54 mile temp ride my fastest and longest since the gravel crash in
May with broken collarbone and metacarpals and trochanter. Outside miles
of course down but I was able to ride inside pretty decent this year.

The flu is bad probably worse than COVID

If it's avian H1N5 , yes(current nasty just starting to make
the rounds. Mortality rate of up to 50%).
    Otherwise, no. Covid was worse.
