• Mass Transit

You can't have mass transit unless you have masses who want to
    transit.

But we do have masses who want to transit. It just happens
that most of them are driving (in the United States).

There are the known knowns, things we know we know; and the known
unknowns, things we know we do not know; but there are also the
unknown unknowns, those things we don't know we don't know...but
what about the unknown knowns, things we do not know we know?

Here in Santa Cruz County, CA, the city fathers are now approving large
housing buildings (sometimes called "Stak-n-paks" on crowded arterials which happen to have bus lines.

These projects are approved with *no* parking in some cases or say 25 spaces per 100 units under the assumption that all the tenants will use the bus!

Some of these are also as small as 220 square feet, so single occupancy, for sure.

On a separate note, I usually know of five people or so per year pulling up stakes and leaving for other states: Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Texas,
Arizona and Tennessee have all been represented.

pH in Aptos (an un-incorporated area of Santa Cruz County about 10 miles
    south of Santa Cruz City).
