The Biden Administration and FEMA have been much maligned in recent days
due to its response to Hurricane Helene. One of the most explosive
revelations is that FEMA has been diverting disaster relief funds for
illegal immigrants.

Rantz: CAIR-WA, Seattle Times frames Oct. 7 about Muslim victimhood, not antisemitism against Jews

The Biden Administration has vociferously denied these claims, but it
appears they’re playing a semantics game. Republican Congressman Dan
Newhouse from Washington’s 4th congressional district said FEMA does, in fact, fund illegal immigrants.

“It’s something called the Shelter and Services Program, the SSP, that
is part of the administration,” Newhouse told “The Jason Rantz Show” on KTTH Monday. “They put this thing together, and they give upwards of
$9,000 to immigrants when they come to this country, supposedly to help
those communities that are feeling the rush of all these numbers of
people coming in.”

On whether FEMA has been doing a good enough job, Rep. Newhouse said, ”
… I hear those reports too that people are feeling stranded, forgotten,
that they haven’t seen any support yet.”

And he's a liar. FEMA emergency funding is NOT being diverted. Rethugs
are trying to divert attention from the fact they have refused to fund FEMA emergency budget to adequate levels.

(Washington, D.C., October 4, 2024) – Congresswoman Nancy Mace
introduced a new bill today to end FEMA’s Shelter and Services Program
(SSP), slamming the program as a wasteful misuse of taxpayer dollars.
The bill will redirect all unspent funds from the SSP to help Americans
recover from natural disasters.

“It’s unacceptable for Americans to grapple with the catastrophic
aftermath of Hurricane Helene while the federal government remains
fixated on spending hundreds of millions on a program sheltering illegal immigrants instead of helping our own citizens,” said Representative
Nancy Mace. “Kamala Harris and Alejandro Mayorkas have turned FEMA into
a migrant resettlement agency. It’s time to end this mess.”

Despite FEMA's role in disaster response, $650 million was allocated in
fiscal year 2024 to coddle illegal aliens, rather than addressing urgent
needs in the wake of deadly hurricanes and wildfires. The bill
terminates the SSP immediately and reallocates all remaining funds to
critical disaster recovery in the wake of Hurricane Helene.

“Our bill will make sure funds meant for disaster relief are utilized
where they are needed most — actual disaster relief,” Rep. Mace added.
