The barbarism of late-term abortion has been denied up and down by the
American press and the Democrat Party for years now. During the ABC News
debate between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala
Harris, Linsey Davis claimed that late-term abortions do not happen,
neither does infanticide.
However, in our fact check of the debate, Students for Life Action
(SFLAction) noted that “data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, however, shows that thousands of abortions are performed
after 21 weeks’ gestation. The CDC’s findings do not include reporting
from at least four abortion-friendly states (California, Maryland, New Hampshire, and New Jersey), which suggests the number of late-term
abortions in the U.S. is likely much higher.”

Not only does late-term abortions exist and happen in numerous states,
but the Biden also-Harris Administration’s top healthcare policy
priority would make late term abortion the standard law of the land.
Their crown jewel bill, the Women’s Health Protection Act, would allow abortions up until birth nationwide without any ability for the states
to push back, violating the conscience rights of thousands of healthcare professionals.
This was the cold hard reality that Students for Life of America’s
(SFLA) Strategic Initiatives Director Michele Venditto addressed in her
latest Federalist op-ed.
Not only are late-term abortions real, but I met a man so infamous for performing them that his name is written forever into a Supreme Court case defending the practice.
In 2016, Dr. LeRoy Carhart, who proudly specialized in abortions through
all nine months of pregnancy, committing tens of thousands himself, gave
a rare public lecture in my hometown for Johns Hopkins University’s
Medical Students for Choice. My Students for Life group and I knew we
had to attend.
Carhart didn’t just commit late-term abortions. In the early 2000s, he trained others to expand his late-term abortion work in Nebraska
and later in Maryland, unashamedly promoting and profiting from
abortions after 20 weeks (5 months) gestation in a state with no limits
until birth.
By the time I met him, it was widely known that Carhart had moved on to executing pre-born babies by “lethal injections,” poisoning the baby in
the womb as a workaround to the 2003 Partial-Birth Abortion Ban, which prevented a late-term killing technique he championed. Until the Supreme
Court shut him down.
