i ask a question in 4 NGs (newsGroups).
A guy responds (and provides some useful info),
but this Guy has set Followup-to: one group
is he saying this?
1. My info is good enough for 4 groups
2. BUT anyone else's Subseq. info (or comment) is not (good enuf)
If a question is relevant to four groups then by all means post it in
those four groups.
But if a particular answer is not relevant to some of those groups,
then in replying to that answer, set follow-ups to go only to those
groups where the discussion is relevant.
If someone in one of the groups where follow-ups are not set responds
in a way that makes it relevant to that group again, they can always
reset the follow-ups to their message to include that group again.
Thread drift means that something can drift from being on-topic to
off-topic to on-topic again, but if it stays off-topic in any group,
set follow-ups to exclude that group from further discussion.
