• [Dialog] Is there a way to auto position & size the composition window

From Randy Jones@21:1/5 to All on Wed Apr 23 06:27:33 2025
I haven't messed with the Dialog setup in years.
    Dialog: Settings > Layout

But every time I hit "f" to followup to an article, the composition window
that pops up takes up the entire monitor width and height.

Of course I can manually re-size & re-position the followup popup window to
be only the left half of the monitor screen width (and full height), but
then the next time I hit "f" to reply to an article, the composition window that pops up above the Dialog GUI still takes up the full monitor again.

There must be a way to set the composition window size & location, isn't
there? I just want the composition window to take up the left half of the monitor width at the full monitor height.

How do I automatically position the composition window to half the monitor?

When a composition window is open, resize and position it to your needs. Afterwards, save these settings via <Options> menu of this composition
window. The saved settings will be the new default.

in post [p] or followup [f] window, resize and position composition window, then under the options menu, "save current window size and pos. as default"

Oh, duh. I was looking all over the main window for an option to set the composition window size (ie without the composition window being open!).

I didn't even look inside the composition window itself (because I thought
it would have been with the Dialog main layout setup for the windows).

My bad. Thanks for that suggestion. Sorry for not looking hard enough.
It was all there all along. Just like you said it would be. My bad.

    Thanks!
