I do too and also my debit/credit cards. Can you confirm Ant's claim that
it doesn't work on the lock screen without a payment card?

I can't confirm that; I'd try it but my bank requires me to call them up
to add my card to Apple Pay, so I'd rather not try it myself :)

I have a very hard time believing that you need to have a payment card
in the Wallet for it to open on the lock screen.

Ant, when iOS 18 is released here in another month or so you can change
one of your shortcut buttons to open the Wallet app if it's something
you frequently use.
