Why is this and how do I expand the swipe options to allow a delete action?

I'm sorry, but there most certainly is a swipe option to delete.

Are you swiping the message itself or subject header in the inbox? At least
in my app, selecting the subject header in the inbox and swiping left shows
    a delete option.

No. It clearly shows that there is no option to switch the Delete option

I do have a Gmail account. I did look at your screenshots. Swiping on the actual message does not reveal a delete option for me. Swiping the subject header does reveals a delete option on my apple mail app. So I don't know
why yours is different and I don't know why you don't have that option in
the toolbar either. It is there for me. Sorry, I was just trying to be
helpful. I won't bother you again.

    Ah, finally.

Your issue is that there is a choice to be made for each email account
to either trash or archive emails when you swipe to "delete" them.

    Go to Settings:Mail:Acccounts:<account involved>:Account:Advanced

Once there, change the option for "MOVE DISCARDED MESSAGES INTO:" from
    "Archive Mailbox" to "Deleted Mailbox"

I'm sorry, but there most certainly is a
    swipe option to delete.

Those links opened up on my phone, it they don’t
open up on my desktop browser. Here’s another
link to a different photo hosting site. Notice
    there is no Delete option.

    https://postimg.cc/gallery/n7JfHP0

Are you swiping the message itself or subject
header in the inbox? At least in my app, selecting
the subject header in the inbox and swiping left
    shows a delete option.

The header in the inbox. Do you have a Gmail account?

Did you look at the screenshots in postimg? It
clearly shows I don’t have a delete option. And
neither does the bottom toolbar within the message
    itself.

Here’s a picture of the toolbar:

    Ah, finally.

Your issue is that there is a choice to be made for each
email account to either trash or archive emails when you
    swipe to "delete" them.

    Go to Settings:Mail:Acccounts:<account
    involved>:Account:Advanced

Once there, change the option for "MOVE DISCARDED
MESSAGES INTO:" from "Archive Mailbox" to "Deleted
    Mailbox"

Your instructions finally game me a Delete option when
swiping left and on the toolbar. They made that really
difficult to find. It didn’t have to be that complicated.

    Thank you.

You're welcome, but it seems what you wanted more than a
solution was something to complain about...

    ...because this:

'No trash option available in swipe

In the Settings app, tap Mail.
    Tap Accounts.
    Tap your account.
    Tap your account once more.
    Tap Advanced.
Select Deleted Mailbox or Archive Mailbox to send discarded
    messages there.'

No, I wanted to give you a chance to be a hero and right for
    once.

    Sure.

    Whatever.

You knew it all, but chose not to fix it.

Does that sound like rational behaviour to you?

I did not know it. But I knew someone here would and wanted to give
them a chance to be helpful.

    Rather than actually checking yourself.

    Right.

I've never known someone so resentful to help and unaccepting of

    I wasn't resentful.

When I discovered what you were actually talking about, I gave you

    I'm not resentful now, BTW.

You seem to be confused as to the purpose of these newsgroups. We are
here to help each other and find solutions to problems. It's not to
argue with people and call each other names constantly.

    I'm not at all confused.

I had an issue with my Mail app so I asked a question of the group.
Some people tried to help but didn't know the answer. You took the
extra step and researched it and provided the solution. I expressed my gratitude for your help. You then mocked me for not researching it
myself. Is this the way you help other people too?

You clearly want to be aggrieved.

    So go ahead.

What's a newsgroup for, then? You may not google (for the correct thing) if you don't know there's a solution. The human experience is usually better when you're not exactly sure if there is a problem or what it may be.

Apparently, it's for BGM to whine while not lifting a finger to help
    himself.

I have no problem answering honest questions, but literally his first
comment after getting the solution was to whine about it.

He whined about it when just saying "Thank you" would have done nicely.

It’s hard to communicate with unreasonable people. They have an attitude that others should be just like them.

    What was unreasonable?

You had a problem, when I found a solution, I provided it.

You then proceeded to find something new to whine about.

    You thanked me...
