Absolultely nothing. As usual, just more useless tweaking and
unneccessary gimmickry. How many people actually connect their iPhone
to an external display!? It's an extreme niche case, at best.

Apple's continual changing of how things work is simply annoying and
serves no useful purpose for the average user. MacOS's system
preferences worked perfectly well, until they decided to iOS-ify it,
and now it is an abhorent, difficult to use mess. That's just one
    example. :-(

    ------------------------

    #1: Major design overhaul

This is the big headliner feature. Apple is reportedly preparing its
biggest iOS redesign in years, with more changes than weΓÇÖve seen since
    iOS 7.

iOS 19ΓÇÖs new design is expected to have three main goals:
    Simpler to use
    Faster to navigate
    Easier to learn

Leaks have pointed to Apple striking a balance of keeping things
familiar, but also fresh and streamlined.

For example, apps that use tab bars may now make that navigation float
above content and integrate a search bar. So itΓÇÖs not an iOS 18 Photos-style total rewrite, but the design still has meaningful visual
    and functional changes.

    #2: New third-party AI integrations

Last year when Apple Intelligence launched, it brought a two-fold
    strategy.

Most AI features are built and powered by AppleΓÇÖs own LLMs. But the
company also integrated the intelligence of ChatGPT into Siri and its
writing tools. Reporting indicates the same approach will continue in
iOS 19, with Apple potentially offering several new third-party AI
models to choose from. Google Gemini will likely be one of them.

While there will also be new in-house AI features in iOS 19, the
expansion of third-party options should help Apple give users more
power than it can provide on its own.

#3: External display ΓÇÿStage ManagerΓÇÖ mode

The iPhone keeps getting increasingly more powerful, and restrictions
in iOS donΓÇÖt always let that power shine through. But reportedly in iOS
19, thereΓÇÖs a big multitasking upgrade on the wayΓÇöat least, in a
    certain context.

iOS 19 is rumored to offer a new Stage Manager-like UI when your iPhone connects to an external display. Thus enabling you to use multiple
    iPhone apps at once.

It may seem like a niche use case, but there are two reasons it makes
    sense:
iPadOS 19 will similarly get big Stage Manager upgrades and next yearΓÇÖs iPhone Fold needs proper multitasking support By shipping this new
Stage Manager UI in iOS 19, Apple can gather feedback from users and
make adjustments next year before the iPhone FoldΓÇÖs launch.

    Hi badgolferman,

Thank you for communicating that OS 19 is expected to bring a major design update plus some new third-party AI integrations like Google Gemini, and a Stage Manager-like feature for external display which is of use to me.

The stage-manager-like feature is of interest to me in that if I want to display and operate my iPads or iPhones onto Windows, I just use Vysor.
    <https://www.vysor.io/download/>

    1. You plug the iOS device into the PC USB port
    2. You run Vysor freeware & it displays the iOS device on the PC
    3. The PC keyboard, mouse, speakers & clipboard are shared with iOS

Voila! <https://i.postimg.cc/k5gv0yw8/vysor34.jpg> iOS & Android mirroring

Since I volunteer at an assisted-living center as the impromptu IT guy, it would be useful if I can find an easier way for folks to mirror devices.

It seems the key requirement for the iOS device for this new monitor
display feature is a USB-port (meaning only newer iOS devices of course).

However, it seems a dumb monitor might work just as well as a smart
monitor, which will make it easy for people to see their devices larger.

To connect an iOS device to a dumb monitor, I think some people use an
Apple Lightning Digital AV Adapter or a Lightning to VGA Adapter but I've
never done it myself (as I do not have those adapters yet).

I'll look on Amazon Vine to see if they have them (although I used up all 8
of my choices for today so I'll have to look for them tomorrow). Googling, apparently we need a Lightning to HDMI/VGA adapter for older iPhones or a
USB-C to HDMI/VGA adapter/cable for the iPhone 15 and newer.

Please do keep us informed on the iOS 19 updates as it's knowledge is
useful just like tools are useful as you use knowledge to fix problems.
