• Does your iPhone's Internet sometimes stop working?

From Ant@21:1/5 to All on Sat Mar 1 19:37:38 2025
    Hello,

Does your iPhone's Internet sometimes stop working? I tried turning off
its cell and wifi, and then turn on and off its airplane. That doesn't
fix it. I reboot my iPhone 12 mini (updated iOS), and that fixes it. I'm wondering if you guys also run into this very rare issue too.

Thank you for reading and hopefully answering soon. :)

It happens occasionally. I always assumed it was because the internet
router changes its IP address every now and then and the iPhone may not adjust quickly without a reboot. It eventually gets there.

Is there a way to release and renew IP address in iPhones like in computers?

Depends if it internet connection is via the cellphone system or a
wireless router at home / work.

There does seem to be a problem with some routers (especially the cheap
ones given out by telecoms companies) when a device goes to sleep, the connection is lost and locked by the router, then when the device
reawakes trying to use the same network address, it fails because the
modem says the address is "in use" with another device. The same can
happen with other devices connected via wi-fi and even ethernet cables,
such as a MacBook Pro or printer.

Sometimes rebooting the device and / or rebooting the router works, by
forcing the router and device to get a new network address. Sometimes
giving the device a fixed network address can be a more permanent fix,
but may not be practical for all devices.

The problems you have are network issues with a high degree of
probability. IP-adresses are allocated by the network and not the
device. If you want to change it you have to restart the device.

I have never seen such behaviour with Apple-devices in the last 18
years. Perhaps it does help if you delete your wifi-network on the
iPhone and set it up again after a restart.

I know this is guessworking but we do not know much about your situation
    in your location.

I assume we are exclusively talking about your wifi: If the above
measures do not help yet you can reset your router in addition.
