I'd like to install Debian 12 in a GMKtec NucBox M3 PLUS, but the installation cannot find the network connection.
Is this box compatible with Linux? anyone!
Network hardware is sometimes newer than what Debian has support for in
the installer. I had this issue a few years ago, probably with Debian 10
or 11. Workaround was just plugging in my phone (some people call this
USB tethering) to get online and update the system. But then, I knew
what netowrking HW I had bought and what drivers and/or firmware was
needed and how I could get it. In that case I think it was Intel's
firmware from firmware-iwlwifi package as that wasn't shipped with the installer back then.
Long story short, you need to know what you have and what you need. I
think there should be a clear process for this in the Debian
installation guide or wiki? Maybe someone else can point you to it.
