    Hello
    Does somebody know how to turn on the keyboard light of a MacBook Pro mid
    2009 running Debian? Please.
    Thanks

    In my experience, laptops having this facility will have the keycap
    engraved, usually as a small horizontal rectangle with radiating
    light rays coming out of the top. OTOH. My HP has three "keys" in
    a horizontal line, with the rays coming out of the top left corner.

    Macbook Pro keyboard replacements seem to have two keys, F5 and F6;
    with different brightnesses? You need to find out which of the many
    modifiers to press at the same time: shift, fn, control, option,
    command (some modifiers have left and right), or even none.

    Cheers,
    David.

    On my ancient Macbook Air, F5 and F6 lower and raise (respectively) the brightness of the key backlights. No modifier key necessary.

    So did you find a directory under /sys/class/ for the macbook
    keyboard light? AFAICT the reddit answer only applies to the
    screen backlight, not the keyboard.

    Cheers,
    David.
