One does get tired and short tempered when a copy/paste error post
bullseye that wrecks udev is said to not be fixed before trixie.
Thats not excusable when the fix is a one line patch we've all done
years ago. Get it from a pinned post on discord/klipper for 3d
printers forum. Restores the missing /dev/serial/by-id entries.
Some post may be pinned in various forums specific to some devices or applications, but has the issue been reported to Debian? Is there a
Debian bug number?
Its been reported and I was informed during bullseye that it would not
be fixed before trixie. That patch is out there, with a gpl license but
by now has probably fallen thru the cracks. Two whole releases with 90%
of the 3d printers disabled because of a one line copy/paste error makes
zero sense to me. Test by "ls /dev/serial/by-id/* If there is no by-id
the patch is still needed. Everybody I've looked at but debian fixed it immediately. As for bug number, I'm not the OP, just a canary.
