That is because I had made a stupid mistake while merging upstream's changelog and then did not know how to undo it and recalled a case on a mailing list back in the days stating that any such stupidity is irreversible.

If you would happen to know some magic by which this can be fixed then
I would be very much up for it. I am not exactly sure that I would prefer
the epoch fixed over seeing the package with trixie, though.
