    Dear Maintainer,

*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***

    * What led up to the situation?

there was nothing leading up to the bug. The touchpad suddenly stopped working without warning. I was typing when it stopped and have no idea what caused it.

    * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
    ineffective)?

I installed uninstalled different drivers. I changed desktop enviroments. It got to the point where I started using google gemini and even it gave up (it told me to file a bug report).

    * What was the outcome of this action?

lack of access to the touchpad

    * What outcome did you expect instead?

no lack of access to the touchpad.

So if that stopped suddently withouth having even updated the Linux
kernel out of the blue, this sounds more like a HW problem/failing.

From a nonworking system anymore you, can you provide please the full
kernel log then we might see something identifiable.

    Regards,
    Salvatore
