• Bug#1105849: sudo news don't show testing migration

From Marc Haber@21:1/5 to All on Fri May 16 06:50:02 2025

    Severity: normal

    Hi,

sudo 1.9.16p2-2 recently migrated to testing, but the last point listed
in the "news" pane of https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/sudo is the upload
    of that version.

    Greetings
    Marc

The migration mail is there now.

I suspect the issue here is that tracker uses the "testing watch" mails
that the Release Team sends in order to generate the news items in
question. Those e-mails are sent once a day, by a cron job that starts
    at 04:39UTC.

sudo migrated in a britney run that started at 10:00UTC yesterday, so
the mail announcing that wasn't sent until ~04:40UTC today (about the
same time as your bug report).

    Regards,

    Adam

Yes, I noticed later that the message arrived then. Your analysis is
quite correct. Thanks you, and sorry for the noise.

I always had the impression that the mails were sent out during the
    actual britney run.

    Greetings
    Marc
