Hi Anarcat,
Quoting Antoine Beaupre (2025-02-19 20:52:11)
There's been a couple new major releases of pandoc upstream (currently
3.6.3 is latest), it would be great to see those in Debian!
Unfortunately, my hands are tied, and they were also in february when
the window was slightly more open window for upgrade before the freeze:
Pandoc is strongly bound to the Haskell library ecosystem that is not
very agile - see e.g. last response on this from the Haskell team at
https://lists.debian.org/aec96a4-2bc1-8e60-79cf-35742e2a9893@techie.net
If you are curious as to what can be expected when, then keep an eye on releases of the Debian package ghc, locate the newest release at
https://www.stackage.org/ for that same upstream version, and in the
long listing at that Stackage release locate the pandoc release - then
you have the version of Pandoc that you can expect few months later in unstable, when the whole Haskell library stack has (hopefully) migrated
to that newer Stackage release.
