    On this computer there is no local users, they are managed via ldap.

    So my question is how can I solve this issue..., and is it an issue in sbuild or on my computer.

    Hi Fred,

    * Picca Frédéric-Emmanuel <picca@debian.org> [2025-05-14 14:23]:
    No entry for picca in /etc/subuid
    invalid idmap
    [..]
    On this computer there is no local users, they are managed via ldap.

    So my question is how can I solve this issue..., and is it an issue in sbuild or on my computer.

    subuid are an essential part of the user namespaces provided by the
    Linux kernel and used by sbuild. They are also used by podman and other container tools. Using them via ldap should be possible but I have not
    looked into details.

    I will leave this bug open for more discussion but would propose to
    close it unless someone has more input.

    Cheers Jochen
