Christmas without Doom! They just fit together so neatly!
This time we have the 2016 reboot, a.k.a. "Doom 4". This
game was Id's attempt to re-invent the franchise, and while
I can't say that I'm the biggest fan of the 'push forward'
mechanic (it's just too reckless, I tell you; somebody XTEX3
could get hurt! Better to hang back and snipe the enemies
from cover, I say). The new engine is nice too; not quite
Carmack-levels of genius, but impressively capable. And I
like the story (I know, story in Doom games? Who cares!
Well, I do!). Add even more Doom to your Christmas, and
your life. It's a good thing.G6NKR
I snagged this one too, had no interest in the Doom64 console port, but
I never played this one when it came out so maybe it's time.
I still have my free copy and need to play it. :(
