This definitely was a busier year for me than 2024, gaming-wise; I
played more games, unlocked more achievements, and even had a longer
'gaming streak' of most consecutive days playing. Steam says I'm way
above the median when my Steam gaming habits are compared to the
average. But the "Truck Simulator" games still took top-spots as
most-played, and Steam still struggles to pigeon-hole me as to what
types of game I play (with most common categories being, 'dwarf',
'warhammer 40k', 'automobile sim', 'tactical rpg', 'cyberpunk' and
    'rhythm' That's a really odd combination ;-).

Really, the only surprising fact was that apparently I didn't do /any/ trucking the entirity of the month of July. What went wrong in July, I wonder?

And that's just Steam. Imagine if it included all my games played
outside the platform? It might explode.

You know what bugs me about these in reviews? We still have 12 days left! Can't they just wait until the year is over? ;P

Yeah, same with the game awards. 2024 isn't over yet!

We might play a lot until 2025. :P

I've probably played London 2038 more than any other game this year
but my Steam time is quite high.

Then there's gog galaxy, UPlay, Origin (EA Play) Epic, Battle.net,
    Quest Link and Steam VR

My most disappointing game experience of the year was Destiny 2. I had
every single DLC which I'd bought over the years and bought the Final
Shape. I expected to be able to play all of that DLC content, only to
find much of it had been 'vaulted' and was not accessible beyond some
narrated scenes and a meager amount of quests.

Destiny 2 turned out to be a boring shell of a game that left me
feeling really deflated and not a little cheated.
