Woohoo! Are you going to post in our Steam's group too?

    Yeah, we're doing it again. Just wanted to give you all a heads up;
the free games are coming. It'll be the usual sort of thing; once a

[probably, I haven't figured out the schedule yet*]

I'll make a post where I drop a key to some random game. First
come, first serve; try not to be too greedy. If you've been here for
previous Decembers, you'll know what to expect. I think I have enough
games to do at least once a day through Christmas.

I haven't decided on whether I'll use any sort of key obfuscation or
not. Honestly, I don't think it really works but I also don't think
that bots are as much as a problem as we sometimes make out.

Anyway, just wanted to let you all know. If my too frequent posts
already annoy you, you may wish to kill-file me in December, because
there's going to be a lot more of me then. ;-)

    Ideas and suggestions always welcome.

If I do, it will be secondary. The primary goal... well, one of the
primary goals... that is, one of the many goals I am striving for...

[Wait, let me start again. I wasn't expecting an Inquisition]

One of the reasons behind these give-aways was to drive traffic to
CSIPGA on Usenet. That's why I was never incredibly worried about
lurkers swiping the keys; if they're getting it, at least it means
    people are reading the newsgroup.

[Although if you are a lurker and grab a key, take it as
an opportunity to come and say hi. We won't bite. Well,
except for maybe Ant, but they're tiny so you'll barely feel
    it.]

I do sting and can spray formic acid, you know. ;)

I feel if I only gave the keys out on the Steam forum, it would limit
the readership. Free stuff --and the traffic the promise of free stuff generates-- makes the newsgroup look more lively. I like lively. ;-)

So if I suspect that if I post to the Steam group, it will mostly be
as a pointer back to here.

[In case you're wondering, the other goals are to make
the holidays more cheerful, and to get rid of all these
excess keys I have cluttering up the place. Oh, and its an
opportunity for me to sing in public without people chasing
me away with torches and pitchforks]

    What a key hoarder. /s ;) I hope those keys don't expire. I hate that! :(
