Do videogame movies need to be good? I saw Super Mario Bros and Street Fighter at the cinema. Save for the first Mortal Kombat, the trend
condinued with Double Dragon, Mortal Kombat II... And that's before Uwe
    Boll (which should not count).

And I was just about to post "Has Hollywood not learned from Uwe Boll
how to make a good video game movie yet?!" :P

With Jason Momoa as, I don't know, some dude, and Jack Black as Steve.
this trailer has absolutely nothing going for it. This trailer is a masterclass in how not to make a trailer interesting.
The most interesting bit might be Jack Black saying his character's name
and the other characters being utterly unimpressed, and that was not
that interesting in the first place.

I love this trailer ironically, since it almost feels parody-level.
What's also incredible/sad is that they have done like animation/cgi over
real footage and it looked great, also they have really good animation
    studios (ELEMENT ANIMATION).

My son was showing me the trailer last night, laughing at it not with it. >>>
I don't get it, there's nothing in that trailer that would me want to
watch this. They made CGI block animals.

    ... wow ... /s

Actually even less than the Borderlands movie.

When did Jack Black decide to play in the worst movies? Does he need
the money that badly? Did he get divorced recently? Tax issues? I
can't find anything like that. Just greed (which some of his fans have
been saying since he broke up his Tenacious D tour.) and bad taste
perhaps. I loved his school of rock and he was pretty funny in the
newer Jumanji movies, and Kung-Fu Panda, though I was never into
    Tenacious D.

Didn't he have to break up that tour after his band mate and co-creator
    went full metal asshole?

That was the publicly stated reason.

Pretty sure it was the legit reason, as you had Australian Politicians pontificating right after demanding the whole band be deported cause of
    what the co-creator said.

    Hard to tour after that.
