Can it be true that the end of Google Groups portends the end of CSA2? Or
is everyone just really busy with the holidays?
I certainly hope it’s the latter….
Hi Michael,

I certainly hope it’s the latter….
I've been here before Google Groups - in fact even before DejaNews. And I'm still here - obviously ;-)

I was just thinking the same thing, Google/Alphabet seems to have caused the premature death of comp.sys.apple2. I hope something might bring it back, Facebook and various scathered websites are certainly not a replacement.
We need a centralized place for all Apple II discussions, with archiving too.
I've been here since 1992, csa2 was my introduction to the Internet!
I remember back then you'd see 150-200 message per day, and on a
multitude of topics. I miss that, I do still have interest in my Apple II's and continue to use them. In fact, this January marks 37 years I've
had my Apple IIGS sitting on my desk.

May also depend. I've been checking the groups less because there's
less going on, but I'm still around.
I still check here regularly, but I’m mostly communicating on Slack. I should post here too as there does not appear to be a lot of overlap.

I suspect when the urge hits, I'll be consumed by it, which usually means other (comparatively more important) things in life will suffer. It seems
to be a personality defect. ;-)
I do still think that this newsgroup is a superior medium for most of
what we do in the realm of Apple II discussion.
Sure, I frequent other places out of necessity, but wish I didn't need to.

I'm OK with them but they don't tend to have the longevity of Usenet.
(Even with Google no longer archiving it)
That said, the say Nutari took over AtariAge, I dropped them like a bad habit.

The current company that goes by the name "Atari" bought AtariAge.
