It's CONVINCED I have a 32 bit system.
Which architecture?
IIRC i686 (and the older stuff like i386 too) are NOT supported by
Fedora anymore.
Even if you have an x86_64 compatible processor (almost all from the
last 20 years are), but run an 32 bit guest system (e.g. i686), you
cannot run an x86_64 (amd64) OS in a virtual machine.
It's an ordinary x86x64 laptop.
ANYway, DID install OpenSUSE - but it was a bit
too pokey and, surprisingly, didn't have some dev
apps I wanted.
RE-Did ... this time Fedora LXDE. THAT installed
perfectly and is a lot snappier too.
So, now I have my RPM installation, handily as
a VM.
Tomorrow, FreeBSD to be installed on one of those
BMax mini-PCs. Did use my newest one, an N-150, to
replace three older units. However this left me
with the older units. So, let's put some neat
stuff ON them :-)
