• So...Linux? Alexa?

Rather than prattle-on about setting one's clock, I wonder if there's
any Linux success stories to share.

I just renumbered my colo -- including my mail server -- using Linux
policy routing so that the old and new IP addresses a) would
still answer, as well as b) reply to the proper default address based
    on the source address.

No clue how I'd do that on Windows, but I suppose it must have some
    facility for that by now...

Built Linux 6.15-rc6, but didn't try to boot it on bare hardware.
Waiting for updates to the NVIDIA drivers that will support it.
Turns out, some calls into the Linux kernel have changed, so
    it's not a trivial update.

I guess I could mention Alexa, since I'm pretty sure the smart
speakers run Linux. I've found them handy for setting alarms
and timers, getting the weather -- and of course, playing music.
I subscribe to di.fm, but also listen to soma.fm (to whom I send
    in donations).

Chris A.: On soma.fm, I tend to listen to "Space Station Soma" or
sometimes "Groove Salad". The former is closer to "psychill" on
di.fm, whereas the latter is closer to "chillout". But for sleep,
I enjoy listening to "space dreams"...unless it's playing something
with too much drone. (Which is odd, because the first soma.fm channel
I used to be glued to was "Drone Zone".)

Once I get coffeed up and retreat to the "office", I first watch Kimmel
for some good Trump humor and Lawrence O'Donnell for some good Trump
    hate.

Then I start up Groove Salad (using the ncmpcpp terminal app plus some keys in .xbindkeysrc to control it). After awhile I need a little more excitement so I switch to the Secret Agent channel, which is mostly groovy spy music.
(The James Bond clips between songs are often funny.)

I'll run Suburbs of Goa (Indian, Mideast music) or Sonic Universe (a grabbag) for awhile. Also, on occasion, the Thistle channel, hosted by Fiona Ritchie. It's a mix of Celtic and American Country).

Whatever fits my mood while writing code.

I have the SomaFM app on phone, Roku, and Google TV, too.

I do listen to the Secret Agent channel, but it gets old after a
    couple of hours.

I used to listen to SoG (and psytrance in general), but got out of the
habit. Just turned it on, we'll see if it still suits.

    Linux, Linux, and more Linux.

It's true: Linux rules the world.

I have soma.fm on phone/Roku/and Amazon TV. On the latter two, it's an "official" app. di.fm works on the Amazon TV (and Alexa), but that's an unofficial app -- on the phone, it's official. We live in a weird world.
