Conservatives are actually attracted by open-source since it respects
their freedom a lot more than proprietary software does. In the areas of privacy, in particular, there is no question that it does better than
anything from Apple, Microsoft or Google. Nevertheless, conservatives
advocate for capitalism and believe that the producers of good products
deserve to be compensated, hence they don't mind paying for a decent
operating system and the software within it. Heck, this is part of why I
am so fond of Linux yet so eager to hold onto Windows. Every time news
emerges demonstrating that the open-source community hates
conservatives, it is especially insulting since there is reason to
believe that the people freely donating to sustain open-source projects
lean right. "Progressive" "liberal" "social democrats" are happy to use
free products and share them, but not as likely to compensate the
    developers.

Never heard of codeberg.org, but then I'm not a developer. I'm guessing, though, he'll be cutting his own throat.

    Codeberg hosts git source code.

I just wanted to add that Codeberg has declared war on "the far right"
because someone hacked their site and sent a notification which said
"NIGGER BALLS" to all of its users. They have no idea who did it or what
their political leanings were, but they declared war on conservatives
    anyway.

I honestly am not sure if there's a real pattern to be discerned, in
either political camp, with regard to this - but I will say, from my
own perspective, software freedom is a nice ideal, *but* if Microsoft
were offering something better, I'd want it nevertheless; they just
*aren't* doing that. I convinced myself they were still great, when
my computer was brand new, but you see how long that lasted. Linux is
where it's at, whether "free" or not, it's the best product, that it's open-source is only extra greatness.

Linux is the operating system conservatives want to use, advocate for
and support. That's why these gender-confused cretins are ruining that
    could be a good thing.

Is there a trend, though, not just the preferences of a given
    individual?

Conservatives want a smaller government, want that government to respect
the Constitution and to represent the people, not rule over them. They
believe in privacy, private ownership and want to have the ability to
hold onto and repair whatever they own as long as and use it however
they wish. For that, Linux is the obvious choice of operating system.

Can there be such a thing as woke conservatives? If so, DEI requires that
we accept them just as we accept everybody else.
