Seems Meta promotes “Windows master race” of users on Russian pirate
copies of ancients Windows (particularly v7). Join the “useds” (as rms calls “users” of that social medium) of Meta now: https://i.imgur.com/nDVVa1J.jpeg

Who knows how Facebook is run now.

They recently got rid of their fact checkers.

That means the inmates run the jail now.

"The note will be written by users who can start signing up
now to contribute to the new Community Notes program."

Any sufficiently large group of individuals with an ax to grind,
could be behind this. Zuck would not know, or care.

It could be as simple as a bunch of people clicking a "report abuse"
button, when there are no humans involved in handling those button
    clicks.

"The best way to report abusive content or spam on Facebook is by using
the Report link near the content itself. Below are some examples of how
you can report content to us. Learn more about reporting abuse."

Well the idiots voted for this, or didn't vote, which still means they
voted for this. Folks don't want to hear facts and ans what is true, but rather want to hear what they *wish* facts and the true to be... https://media1.giphy.com/media

I did a Google to check the status on this issue yesterday, and finally
Meta responded and said this was an "error of the automation", so this
could be an AI configured for slapping account holders around.

The people who had their accounts locked, so far they haven't been unlocked.

Maybe I'm just naive, but I don't see AI ever truly taking over human
jobs. Tech billionaires with more money than brains might try to make it happen, but what they're left with is an enshittified product since all
the people who worked to make things good were left destitute and out of
a job, but soon enough these companies will have no other choice than to
look their AI-generated disfigured crack baby in the eyes, and suddenly
people will mysteriously have their jobs back.

AI may take a few jobs, but when it starts to bug out and people realize
how terrible the results are, suddenly good old-fashioned humanpower
doesn't seem so bad. In any event, Facebook stopped flagging Linux as
malware, but if they didn't stop, I might have just created an account
solely to list distro names, but not the name "Linux" itself and see if
I can speedrun getting banned :)

In the end, AI is little more than a toy. Generative AI is equivalent to connect-the-dots on a computational level, but massively enshittified
and ugly in its results, and LLMs are basically just an
encyclopedia/search engine for people who jump on the latest hype
trains. I never use either for anything serious beyond pointing and
laughing at how such things are legitimately considered truly useful
products. It amuses me to no end :)

Oh wait, that's a big fat lie.

AI will get better. (Right now I agree it's ****)

I'm sure back in the day the weavers never thought they'd lose their
    jobs to machines.
