    I find it ridiculous that the Gravity website doesn't have a single screenshot of their program.

    seems the current most popular newsreader, thunderbird (betterbird etc.)
    is problematic in ways that the far older classic 40tude dialog does not
    have any problems with . . . other newsgroups have discussed issues with thunderbird at length, e.g. difficulties with scoring, dns prefetch, etc. dialog is far easier to install, use and maintain compared to any others, especially because it uses hamster scoring and an editable "filters.dat";
    no other news reader is that user-friendly, not even mesnews, or gravity

    I adore trn. After 35 years it's pure muscle memory, though, so YMMV.

    And look, this version is even from the current millenium!

    version: 4.0-test77 (Sep 1, 2010)

    (Also I have no idea what it takes to run it locally -- I'm
    posting from a shared server.)

    I don't like 40tude being closed-source.

    Why keep the source closed anyway when there are already so many
    other FOSS newsreaders.
