Whoopi Goldberg added to the already rampant conspiracy theories about recent drone sightings over the East Coast, suggesting that they would soon span the entire nationÆs airspace in preparation for a large New YearÆs Eve party.
Goldberg shared her take on MondayÆs broadcast of ôThe Viewö on ABC,
following days of sightings that seem to have centered over northern New
Jersey ù and multiple accounts from local officials who say they canÆt
identify what they are or where theyÆve come from.

Whoopi claims all the drone sighting over military bases are just
for one massive drone lightshow for News Year's Eve: "We're going
to get a really hell of a big party for New Year's Eve. It's going
to be like a dome over all 50 states." pic.twitter.com/Kj9SNMdsHO

ôI think they know what it is,ö Goldberg said, referencing the federal government. ôI think theyÆre not going to be able to say it.ö
She then pivoted to offer a different theory, adding, ôWeÆre going to get a really hell of a big party for New YearÆs Eve. ItÆs going to be like a dome over all 50 states of these drones.ö
Her suggestion prompted laughs from around the table, and she continued,
ôWell, why not? Stranger things have happened.ö
GoldbergÆs comments come after a series of Biden administration officials
have addressed the situation, all suggesting that they do not know for
certain what people are seeing but nevertheless insisting that there is no
risk to the general public.
ôWeÆve deployed personnel, technology, and if there is any reason for
concern, if we identify any foreign involvement or criminal activity, we will communicate with the American public accordingly,ö DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas told ABC News anchor George Stephanopoulos. ôRight now, we are not aware of any. If we become aware of any, we will communicate accordingly and take appropriate action.ö
The White House Press Corps received a similar statement from retired Admiral John Kirby, who is currently serving as communications adviser for the
National Security Council.
Former Governor Chris Christie (R-NJ) pushed back, however, saying that he
had lived in the Garden State his entire life and until recently, had never witnessed a drone flying over his home.
