I've heard on one talk radio program that Thompson was going to testify >against Nancy Pelosi in a conflict of interest hearing on insider
trading by Pelosi and her husband. The implication is, if the story is
true, that he was shot to prevent him from testifying against Pelosi and
her husband.
The same talk radio program suggested that the person of interest is a
patsy, given that the real shooter got rid of the firearm
and had
planned out his escape,
so it's unbelievable that the person of interest
has a manifesto
and was hanging around at a McDonalds.

Is there any actual evidence for the claim of his testifying?
It's easy to make claims, but evidence is what matters.

patsy, given that the real shooter got rid of the firearm
Not anywhere near the scene of the shooting. An extensive search
found no gun. 9 mm shell casings, consistent with what is believed to
be the gun used, were found.
Luigi had a 9 mm gun on his person when arrested. In and of
itself, this isn't proof of his being the killer, but it does do
anything to eliminate him as a suspect.

planned out his escape,
Upon what do you base this claim? As of the time I write this,
I've seen nothing to suggest he planned out any serious escape. He did
have a plan to leave the immediate area, but that appears to be the
extent.
so it's unbelievable that the person of interest
has a manifesto
But he did. Only three pages, which is disappointing, but it's
still a manifesto.
and was hanging around at a McDonalds.
Why not? He wanted something to eat. McDonald's is as good a
place as any. Should he have gone to Burger King?

That still qualifies as a plan to escape, which was successful, until he
got careless and wanted fast food, assuming this is the real shooter.

Apparently he was a fan of the Unabomber's manifesto.

I hear the real shooter was none other than Alex Jones.

Not much of one. But it did work out until he was recognized.

Wasn't Ted's much longer? I must admit, I never committed the
matter to memory, and I can't be bothered to look it up.

I take it you do think he should have gone to BK.

That would actually be funny.
