    Steve Gibson's "Security Now!" Podcast
    ---------

There has been a great podcast on computer security done by Steve Gibson with Leo Laporte (of the TWiT Network). He has been faithfully making new podcasts very regularly. It is basically like getting a President's Brief on the state of computer security every short while. All aspects of computer security are examined, and you get a firm debriefing on the state of the CompSec scene.

The PODcast is also released in both Hi-Def audio, and very compressed audio. so you can listen into it even if your Internet connection is a joke.

Leo LaPorte is the founder of the TWiT Network, otherwise known as "This Week In Tech." It has several technology shows (podcasts), from Ham Radio, to a law podcast that relates to computer issues. It quite a nice offering and I'd suggest it to anyone who wants to get serious in a computer technology career.

As I was saying, there are over 300 shows recorded thus far, and I think I'm missing the actual number which may be in the 500's by now. Oh, and its 100% free to the listener. There are some short advertisements on the recording but they are short and relevant. If you are looking for the recordings on a BBS File Distro Network then Anonymous Archivers File Distro Network would work for you (see The Quantum Wormhole BBS or The Bottomless Abyss BBS).

I really want to emphasize how well done this podcast really is. It is basically free college education, and free is good, especially when it is done with this high of production quality. In my opinion you should try it out at least, and if you don't like it you may be odd, though giving it a two thumbs up will be probable. It would work well on the commute to and from work. I really enjoy this show, you might enjoy it as well.

    Cheers!
