Live Not by Lies: A Manual for Christian Dissidents
    By Rod Dreher
    Audio book Available from Audible.com
    ----------

This is a book review of a book that I picked up from Audible.ca. It details the slow creep into American and including Western cultures of Marxism. It also describes people's acceptance and promotion of a lie. The focus of the book is acceptance of the lie of Communism, or at least the absence of speaking out against it. It details how people just shut up about their issues and accept what they know to be a lie. They, in simple terms, don't rock the boat but rather accept what they know as a lie to make their lives less troublesome. It describes the watering down of the Christian message due to the Christian leaders not wanting trouble in their lives. The police states have managed to intimidate their populations to the point where the Christians just don't want to fight against it anymore, so they acquiesces to the "new truth." This is where people know what is right and wrong but they accept what they know to be wrong to avoid the trouble of fighting against The Man. An idea that would describe this is having a state dictate that 2+2=5 and the population accepting it as they don't want the trouble of fighting for what they know is right, so they accept and repeat that 2+2=5, even when this is obviously a falsehood. Some people would rather take the easy route out even to the point where they promote what is obvious fiction. It isn't the truth, it is bonkers, yet it is the reality of many under Communist dictatorships around the world. Those who disagree with the lie and promote the Truth are thrown into work camps or have even worse fates with more pain inflicted on themselves. They don't want that so they accept, then believe, then promote the lie of the politicians. It is crazy, it is bonkers, it is the reality of many in non-free states. They deserve pity, they deserve the frustration against their rulers, and ultimately they need to hear the Truth of the Christian message, regardless of how dangerous that may be. We are soldiers for Jesus Christ, not simple minions of The State.

"Live Not by Lies" is very well written and verbally presented. I would recommend it to everyone who wants to fight the woke agenda. If you don't currently have a subscription to Audible then know that your first book after signing up for this service is always free. You can pick any single book from their entire library and download it for free. Their audio books can be either streamed to a device or downloaded for later listening. To give an example of just how good a deal this is I will give you an example. The Holy Bible, running approximately 72 hours in length for the full Holy Bible, Old and New Testaments included costs you one credit. Buying a short book of 2 hours costs you the same one credit. So you can use your credit on anything in their entire library regardless of "cost" for a single credit. In Canada their cost for a single credit is around $16 CAD. You get better deals with the more credits that you purchase at one time. Credits also roll-over, so if you have a month where you just don't know what to pick up or are too busy to pick up your book you can wait a month or even several months with credits rolling-over to the point in time when you again want to have a listen and binge on your credits or just pick one or two out of your wish list to have a listen to. It is actually often cheaper to buy an audio book from Audible than it is to purchase a physical product. As someone who is very interested in bettering myself through learning all types of non-fiction books you can be assured that if I like it, then people like myself who are addicted to learning will agree, after trying Audible's services out, that it is a very good deal, and something worth investing in. You don't need to lay down on your sofa and open your dead-tree book, but you can rather be doing whatever you want to be doing and have the audio book educate you or entertain you passively, learning lots of interesting things in the background and having a very good time at it as well.

Having a lifestyle of life-long learning makes a person grow in knowledge from day to day, growing as people in the acquisition of data to information to wisdom. I can't recommend a learning service higher at this point in time than Audible. Now some people just aren't audio-focused learners. This service is not for them. This is for the majority of people who can learn better from what they hear than from reading a tome of words on paper.

So, back to the book in review: "Live Not by Lies" would receive my rating of 9/10 as it's just that good. It would also receive that rating because I have been learning stuff from it that I wouldn't otherwise have been able to claim authority on. I would seriously recommend this book. Have fun and keep on learning!

    Cheers!

Libro.fm is also a fine alternative to Audible. Credits roll
over, and the credits can be used on *any* full-priced book.
First-time membership also provides additional credits.
Unlike Audible, you can even place your account on HOLD so that
your credit card isn't charged. Unlike Audible, the Libro.fm
files are MP3 and yours to keep. Finally, with Libro.fm, you
can support an independent bookshop of your choice! ..such as,

    https://libro.fm/ashlies. :)

They also offer a special bonus for Audible->Libro.fm converts.
