How to Win Friends and Influence People

If you want to work in the intelligence field, or in reality any career in which you want to be a people influencer you should, or rather you must, read Dale Carnegie's book that has changed the prosperity of so many business men: "How to Win Friends and Influence People." It is the pillar of self-help books for being able to help people and come to win-win resolutions of issues.
It helps you understand your fellow person's point of view and to find solutions to issues in which both parties of a negotiation come out the winners. However its so much more than that. It is the understanding of how to use psychology to better your own life by making the world a better place. It is somewhat hard to explain, but in its simplest form it is a way to
better your world-view and better man kind by building relationships and friendships that will make good things happen.

The audio book is available on CD for about $40 USD, or you can get it on Audible.com for around $13 USD. It was originally made several decades ago, and has been updated several times to be culturally relevant, though it would be relevant even without the revisions. It is a book that will stand the test of time. It is the kind of book in which you hope that its copyright will expire sooner rather than later as everyone should read this book, and not just the business folks. In my opinion How to Win Friends and Influence People is a must read for everyone going through high school or prep-school as its is a more important and relevant book than Shakespeare

If I were to give only ten books to a friend of mine for his or her entire life, I would include this work amongst those ten books. I would include (as of this writing) the following:

The Holy Bible: NKJV or ASV
How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie
Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis
The Alpha Course with Nicky Gumble

... and six others that I have not yet decided on...

How to Win Friends and Influence People is not just another self-help book; it is a work in psychology to better you and those in contact with you. Its a book that aims to improve the quality of life of professionals and laymen; everyone could enjoy and benefit from this work. It also follows a story-line, not just hard facts compiled in a book, but a work of creative non-fiction. It is timeless. I'd highly recommend that you read this. It will give you social skills that are highly useful, highly relevant, and highly enjoyable. Have fun!

Darren Brown also has several good books regarding this topic too. I would also add his books to this list. Definitely check out his writings and the social experiments he has done in the past.
