It's headed our way down here in Port Arthur (next to Louisianna as far south as you can go). By Tuesday and Wednesday it'll be below 30, which is freakin COLD for us. Believe it or not, we see a few people wearing parkas at 35...hehe.

We have sunny weather, but overnight lows around 17F, which is very rare here. Even had reports of snow flurries on the San Joaquin Valley floor. The citrus growers are worried about their crops. Tomorrow morning, same thing.

The last time it was this cold was in 1998 and before that, 1990. Last measurable snow: 6" January 25, 1999 at our house in Visalia, CA. Lodgepole, in Sequoia National Park was to be -4F (four degrees below zero farenheit) this morning, less than 50 miles away at 6000'. Currently: Sunny about 30 at 09:40 AM Sat.

It's supposed to roll through here (Corpus Christi) this afternoon. Winds
will change direction and get much colder, but since I live on the coast, we aren't expecting a freeze. Good luck to ya'll up north...:)

Nope. But, after growing up in Wisconsin/Illinois, I am more prepared and experienced when it comes to winter driving. Unlike the morons down here who don't understand what it means to SLOW DOWN. The worst ones are the inbreds who drive pickup trucks and think they're invincible. The majority of the wrecks you see involve that kind of idiot.

Dumb ass me rode with a friend from Mineral Wells to Wichita Falls on saturday. We made it fine at about 40mph, but we saw a lot of idiots who didn't!

There was this SUV, hispanic driver pulling a trailer. The trailer was
still right-side up, but the SUV was on it's roof! And, somehow, they
    were still attached!

Several dead animals on the side of the road too, one being a COW! It
would suck to come across a cow in the middle of the road while driving on ice. Perhaps his position had something to do with the skid marks sliding through the fenceline we passed.

Port Arthur... now I've not heard that in a while :) I'm originally from Beaumont and my great-grandmother and a slew of uncles/aunts still live in Silsbee.

I'm in Waco, Tx now, but still get down there a few times a year to visit
the family. Great to see a BBSer from my old area :)
