From Sean Rima@86:553/20.1 to All on Wed Apr 16 10:55:07 2025

    Hello everybody!

I am wondering if anyone knows of a procmail filter that will work on a Pi that will do the following:

    a) strip all GPG
    b) decode base64 mails

then instead of saving, send the body to another script. I did see a mutt script that should have done it, but I lose the url

I am wondering if anyone knows of a procmail filter that will work on a Pi that will do the following:

Did you try passing something like

"procmail script to strip gpg and decode base 64 emails then send the body to another script"

to gemini? It throws out a script that looks reasonable. You can then tweak it. --- SBBSecho 3.24-Linux

I never thought of that. I will see what it can generate :)

I threw it through chatgpt and it is working. Just finishing some touches but I think will be handy so will share once I am done and dusted :)

I never thought of that. I will see what it can generate :)

It seems pretty good for simple stuff. Trying to get it to write entire scripts in JavaScript using the Synchronet JS model is a little more difficult :)

I am shocked by how easy it is. I am wondering if it could write a script for BBBS :)

It could well do. Give it a try and let us know.

First attempt failed but I am now thinking of uploading the bbbs header files and see what it makes of them. I have 3 new scripts, 1 to import RSS feeds, 1 to imports mhonarc mailing list archives and one to send a mastodon update after grabbing a weather forecast
