I'm not sure how popular the Music 500 or Music 5000 add-ons to the BBS Micro were back in the UK but I remember that it's how I got introduced to electronic and syntheized music. I was about 15 at the time and hearing this stuff for the first time blew my mind. That's how I was introduced to Jean Michel Jarre and New Order (my parents didn't listen to music so I never really heard much of it).
I found an emulator called Beech which has built in M500/0 emulation and a bunch of image disks with ample music files. I still remember listening to some of them for the first time. I'm probably going to end up putting the files up for download on my BBS when I get a chance. I'm sure there'll always be a BBC Micro retro schene since a lot of us grew up on them at school and in our homes. It'd be nice to keep it alive.
