I'm running Acronis True Image, but it's terribly slow. What options do I
have that would use the true speed of my USB? This only uses about 55mb/s instead of 1Gbps.

Is it not possible that your USB port is acting up and
downgrades to lower speed? USB ports would do that.

When I transfer files manually they transfer at 100MBps, not 55mbps. Reading and Writing. I can do a large amount of data at that rate.

With it being a backup solution, it may be doing some sort of write verification above and beyond what a "normal" copy/move processes would do.
That would cause throughput to be slower if it is doing so.

Acronis True Image is still being developed. I put it on my mom's computer
to help her back up her business data.

If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it here. Don't start.

I've always had a fondness for DriveImageXML. It's a backup,
restore, image and clone. It has worked well for me in all
    those functions.

You know damn well not to say that to me when I have many netmails and
emails to me calling for your expulsion from Micronet due to your being uncouth. You may have meant it as a joke but these days I don't know what to take from you as a joke or a thinly-veiled insult.

    I'm done.

you need to lighten up. When the hell do i do a thingly veiled insult?
People always find what you are looking for.

And who would EVER get offended for someone saying something about acronis? They aren't the programmer. If they get offended, they need to unplug.

Post the netmails publically. I'm sure we would find it entertaining.
Don't be acting like i'm a micronet tyrant for saying nick shouldn't run windows xp.

I'm using Macrium Reflect and am getting a steady 265MB/s. Almost 5 times faster than Acronis.

What changed, other than switching software? Did your pc go
through a shut-down reboot sequence? Sometimes the latter
    "fixes" USB port issues.

Just switching software. I'd restarted several times with True Image.

It wasn't a USB port issue, it was Acronis. If I dragged files, they copied around 1Gbps. Now with the current faster and better caching drive, it's closer to 2.
