i had to do a OS upgrade on all of my systems because FreeDOS 1.4 released
and it was painful using fdimples (it is very sluggish)

but it is worth it so many fixes!
    <3

i got a 1.4 installation ready but i dont know where i put it xD

When? Where? I didn't hear anything about that. I might have taken my
BBC Micro along and showed off my BBS.

    an amazing dos system!
it too has 256+ mb of ram!

Very nice, I wanted the joys of oldskool systems with new motherboard and CPU. Ended up with Nixsys system, installed my old soundblaster pro and enjoy doing some DOS stuff indeed. In the end I want to be able to play all old Sierra/Lucasarts games.

    oP!

I never heard of Nixsys! People are still making system with ISA slots!?

    thats kind of crazy cool.

I am desperately in need of a wroking MOBO with an 8BIT ISA slot. Sadly the XT and 486I have with those slots are not longer functional. I've got a CGA card and monitor I want to work, but the card cannot be plugged into a 16bit ISA slot due to overhang on the card.

The Nixsys N370-T70 is perfect, turn off all cashing and it can be a slow as a 486 =).
I really recommend it, I use a IcyDock for SSD drives and have seperate ones for DOS, Windows 95 and Linux.

    https://nixsys.com/nx370-t70

Both Nixsys and Synology are overpriced but it saves me so much time and I can do what I actually like.
They allow me to use the devices as a hobby instead of building and maintaining them as a hobby ^^.

    oP!

... Talk is cheap. Using a modem gets expensive.
