I'm hoping that losing weight will get rid of my snoring. My wife tells me I've gone from snoring on a regular basis all through the night to the apnea-specific long gaps in snoring then a snoregasp.

I found losing weight does help. I don't really bother my wife much when I sleep anymore, at least, not in terms of snoring. I wasn't overly overweight to begin with. Now I don't snore much at all

Another thing that helps is getting sleep. I tend to be more likely to snore if I haven't slept well, or simply not gotten enough sleep. Well rested, I snore less.

If it's a medical issue with the throat closing, weight has nothing to
do with it... I've gone from 381 pounds to 327 in the last 8 months or
so - still have to wear it.

    I'm also 58...
