I hope everyone is having a great day/night in the peace of our Lord Jesus.
It's good to see so many people excited for Him in a way that's unmeasurable and satisfying.
Since the first sin, the disobedience of Adam and Eve eating from the tree
of knowledge which they were forbidden to do, now the slain of Able. Law
had not been set at this point yet, but it was in the heart of God that none shall sin and not face death. We were all born with it and thank Jesus that there was a way out by his Holy Grace, not that we deserve or earned it, but his sacrifice that God made a redemer for us all for those that accept Him
in our hearts.
Gen 4:11 (KJV) And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother's blood from thy hand;
Gen 4:12 (KJV) When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield
unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the
earth.
Gen 4:13 (KJV) And Cain said unto the LORD, My punishment is greater than I
can bear.
Do you ever feel that sin you have done has hindered you in some sort of fashion or factor? Sin is as real as obedience and hate is as real as love.
We have a choice to do either because God gave us free will. My prayer as always that is that ALL will find and accept the Lord as His one and only savior.
Here we see that Cain said his punishment was greater than He could bear.
Was that because Cain felt his temptation then action to kill was greater
than God's love and mercy? It wasn't the end for him. He felt that since
he had killed, that others would be out to kill him; a marked man.
Gen 4:14 (KJV) Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth; and from thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth; and it shall come to pass, that every one that
findeth me shall slay me.
Because Cain acknowledged God and God's mercy, he was spared.
Gen 4:15 (KJV) And the LORD said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the LORD set a mark upon
Cain, lest any finding him should kill him.
Gen 4:16 (KJV) And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.
Gen 4:17 (KJV) And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch:
and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of
his son, Enoch.
How remarkable is that. Cain and his wife had a son. Not only that, they built a city named after him. Then many generations followed that.
Back to Adam and Eve...
Gen 4:25 (KJV) And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called
his name Seth: For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew.
Gen 4:26 (KJV) And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called
his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the LORD.
They bared another son named Seth and then Seth had a son named Enos. See,
God wanted a family. If you follow love, you won't have to worry about a
sin because you won't want to. The definition of love is as follows:
1Co 13:4 (KJV) Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
1Co 13:5 (KJV) Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
1Co 13:6 (KJV) Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
1Co 13:7 (KJV) Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
Love is as simple as doing these things. If you really loved your brother
or sister or any of God's children, you wouldn't have acted as Cain did and
be jealous.
May peace rest with you.
