  • docker synchro QWK to VERT

    Still figuring things out.
    hanging out in irc, feel free to pm sol I should get it.

    Trying to figure out how to get QWK to to download message packets from VERT as per the instructions in the wiki, I just keep seeing timeouts. I have forwarded all the listed ports in the docker-compose file - Can't seem to get it to work. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. Just playing around, but solving these puzzles is half the fun.

    your stuff is setup wrong.
    that's all we can tell you if you don't provide any decent information.
    we need screenshots of configuration files, tell us what you did.
    tell us about the environment it runs on.

    are your ports actually forwarded and working? do you actually have an internet connection in your docker instance?

    Can you use a regular ftp client in PASV mode to connect to dove.synchro.net and successfully get a directory listing? If not, you need to solve that first. qnet-ftp.js (the script used by default for outbound QWK/REP packet transfers) uses "passive" (PASV) FTP by default, so doesn't require any forwarded-ports or special NAT handling (we're talking about an *outbound* connection from your system to mine).

    By the subject, you are using sync in docker right?

    I've been using that setup for years (I think I'm coming up to 7 or so) - and it works well.

    You might need to provide a log file and/or config to be able get an idea where the problem might be.
