• filtering listserv/mailing list

    I've setup mailing lists on my bbs. I'm sending email alerts from
    a subscribed email to it. The emails are in HTML. Is there away, I can force the emails to go through a unix filter of some sort to convert HTML to plain text ?

    I've read a few wiki pages on listserv.ini and mailproc.ini; but not sure if this would be the correct place to try and setup a filter.

    Is the email a multi-part MIME encoded message? If so, it should already have a plain-text portion that's displayed to readers (e.g. using the terminal server) already. That's how HTML-encoded mails like the TLDR newsletter are readable via terminals and there's no HTML conversion needed.

    But if you really need/want to do some some conversion of the message body text as you're importing it, an external mail processor (added/configured via mailproc.ini) is how you'd do that:
