Hello Everybody,
"it's a plane!"
"It's a bird!"
"It's Superman!"
Otherwise known as Mondo Duplantis.
Who once disguised himself as Clark Kent.
We should have known.
Years ago.
When he competed at LSU, in Louisiana.
We all thought he had great potential.
Pole in hand, bar set high.
That kid could fly.
Now we know the bar could not have been set high enough.
What the world witnessed at midnight in Paris was something
that no human has even seen before.
With the possible exception of Lois Lane and Lex Luthor.
Mondo Duplantis put on his suit and took to the air.
A new world record was set.
At the Olympics in Paris.
That's right.
Superman, competing for Sweden, flew sky high.
Never touched the bar, and smiled at the result.
First, he flew over the cross bar, set at 20 feet
even, to set the Olympic Record. Then, we went
higher, clearing the cross bar at 20 feet 6 inches.
"If I don't see blood on your hand, I don't think
you are human."
~ Greek reporter to Duplantis
"Mondo is a bit of a machine these days."
~ Sam Kendricks, the American silver medalist
This is the second straight time that Superman has won
the gold medal. But Tokyo did not have the crowds.
I am sure every Swede enjoyed watching Superman singing
the Swedish National Anthem in Cajun French.
Why does Superman fly? He tells you guite plainly -
For Truth, Justice, and the Swedish Way.
For Life,
Lee
