When we were in HI, we found, at a kitchenware store, some grinders
still use. They're lucite (clear), tall (about 4") squares with a
crank on the top. Got 2 originally (salt and pepper), then went back
for another one for our Hawaiian seasoned salt. They're basic but
sturdy as we use them almost daily.

Nice! I do need a better one, but it's one of those things I don't
think about when we're at a kitchen store. One of these days I will
    find a better one. :)

I've an assortment. From the standby R2-D2 plug in the house current bulk grinder down through a set of grinders very similar to this

    to one like this:

Since you're in our not-gonna-be-51st state you won't have to pay then increased tariffs imposed by Elon's pet spoiled brat Donnie.

But my most often used pepper mill is a U$1.49 jar of black peppercorns
with a grinder top I picked up on a whim at the grocery store. Bv)=

This is what I normally pick up for the trailer every spring. It lasts
the season (5 months) and if there's any left I bring it home and use it
    up quick.

It's just not as cost effective as I get a big jug of rainbow peppercorns
from a bulk store and grind away. :) Plus I like the rainbow mix and I
always add some (I won't even come close to spelling this right) sezishwon peppercorns to the mix for a big of numbing.
